Project #1 - Personal Logo
The first project involved the development of a personal logo that was inspired by my initials, my family’s tartan, father’s favorite colours and my favorite artistic style of minimalism. I then pulled all these influences together into a composition with an architectural reference.
Project #2 - 20 x 20 Square composition - Energy
Project #3 - Two-Dimensional Design – Isolation
Project three is based on the theme of isolation by designing a composition comprised of a 5 cm in diameter circle, a 1 cm x 1 cm square, a 4 cm x 10 cm rectangle, a 1 cm x 12 cm rectangle, and a 2 cm x 2 cm rectangular triangle, all of which could only be used once. I had to consider such fundamental design issues such as symmetry, balance, proportion, contrast, hierarchy, solid vs. void, and any other design principles I felt relevant.

Project #4 - Three-Dimensional Design - Chain Reaction
Project four is a sculpture comprised of transforming a selected form that could be either a 4 cm x 4 cm x 4 cm cube, a 4 cm x 8 cm x 2 cm prism, or a 4 cm x 5 cm in diameter cylinder form into a directional composition. No more than four additional geometric solids, which could be of any size and/or combination of the previous mentioned forms, can be added to help suggest directional movement.

Project #5 - 12 x 3 Planer Model - Wave

Project five used 12 – 12 cm x 3 cm planes combined together to create a 3D abstract composition with an architectural references. I decided to imply the theme of a fluid directional wave by weaving the planes into a form resembling a physical wave that flowed above and below the base plane. I further emphasized a direction by tapering the wave horizontally from back to front.
